ANNUAL ATHLETIC MEET

Annual Athletic Meet is yet another sports festival aimed to promote athletic talents. It is open to all the students of the classes.

Athletic Meet is the showcasing of hard work, perseverance, leadership, winning and sportsman spirit. With this motto, JRS’s Annual Athletic Meet 2022-23 was inaugurated on December 22nd 2022 with great zeal and spirit. The excitement and enthusiasm of the athletes was above edge. Mr Deva Kumar presently working as principal sports school kudige was the chief guest of the ceremony. The athletes of four houses led by flag bearers along with school captain and vice captain, rendered salute to the guest during their majestic March-past. The Olympic flame held by the ace performers was finally handed over to Mr Ram Devaiah, the treasurer who lit the 

Olympic flame where as Mr Deva Kumar declared the Athletic Meet open. The oath to participate with loyalty and full dedication in the spirit of a true sportsmanship was administered by school house Captains. The participants emphasised that winning is not important, will with true sportsman spirit is what required. Aerobic and dance performances by the students were commendable.. The guests felicitated the winners of various events and appreciated the efforts of athletes in setting the new records.

The second day began with a bang i.e. welcome of the chief guests Mr. Anandhateerta Bharadwaj followed by the events like relay, kabbadi, 100 and 400 mts race by higher primary and high school.

The events were witnessed by the students of four houses. The compeering team as well as the commentators did not miss out any moment to gear up the participants. The wave of excitement coupled with anxiety and nervousness grew as the event proceeded. The smile on the faces of the winners, disappointment of the ones who could not win, tussle on the track, track umpires’ vigilance, marshals’ spirit to control the crowd, photographers’ keenness to click the moments, proud mentors giving away the prizes, artistic students writing the certificates in beautiful
calligraphy, sports teachers on their toes and few unsung heroes charged for their duties were the momentous moments of the day.

The four houses battled on the field to grab the championship and best Drill trophy. Ekalavya House emerged as the sports champions. The Best drill won by the Abhimanyu House
