SPORTS AND GAMES
Sports has the power to change the world, It has the power to inspire, it has the power to unite people in a way that little else does.
Our school provides various sports events and competitions between the houses, interschool, district level and state level. Students of Jnanaganga Residential School participate in school sports which helps them to increase confidence, mental alertness, and self-esteem. It also enhances the various skills like leadership, patience, team efforts and social skill.
The various events our school organizes every year are as follows:
Basket Ball
Basket ball is essential in promoting cardiovascular health among the children. It is immensely helpful for one’s health.
Basket ball gives complete physical exercise. Basket ball is a brisk sport, involving a lot of running, jumping, dribbling the ball passing it and shooting. It encourages team spirits.
Throw ball
Playing with ball makes physical activity, fun, throwing, catching and kicking ball is good for muscle development.
Volleyball
It builds team work and leadership skills apart from good health. Improves hand-eye coordination.
Kabaddi
Kabaddi is a contact team sport, played between two teams of seven players.
District level Badminton
Badminton enhances strategic thinking and concentration power.
Athletics
Tug of war
It shows the muscles strength and team spirit.
Running Race
It gives overall workout for the body. It develops one’s individual strength and willingness.
Lemon and Spoon
Slow and steady wins the race.
Sack race
A sack race is a fantastic way for kids to get plenty of outdoor exercise and enjoy being silly.
Balancing the book, hoops race Zig-Zag
It increases mental residence, develops joyness. It improves balance and co-ordination.
Relay
Develops team spirit, Run far but not too far. It develops a team bonding being inspired by other runners.
